Going Home!!!

Here's some pics of us going home as a family of three :). Cayleigh looked mighty fashionable in her hot pink hoodie and pants, and the nurse said it was the first time she'd ever sent a mom home wearing a pencil skirt, lol! Oh, and Phil and I soon discovered that having your baby in the car exponentially increases road rage :). I don't believe there was a single competent driver on the road today :) We're very glad to have survived the drive, though, and extremely happy to finally be home! Now the real work begins....

SHE IS HERE!!

Cayleigh got here in record time I think. Mary Anne only pushed for 13 minutes. Cayleigh weighs 8.06 pounds. She is so beautiful! They are both fine and doing great! We are so happy and are going to be relaxing some but Im sure we will being calling everyone soon! Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts!

cayleigh update 2

mary anne is now 7cm and 100% effaced, she is signing some papers and will be ready to start pushing soon! Cayleigh will be here soon. If she is born today then she will share a birthday with my Pal Pal! Im sure he will not have any problems with that, im sure he is willing to share some cake with her.

cayleigh update

hey this is the dad this time. Mary Anne just got an epidural and she is 95% efaced and 5 cm dialated. She had her water broke and now we are just waiting to see what happens next. if she doesnt start soon on her on with active labor then they are going to give her a shot of something to help it along. I will keep this updated as i can. Yay!

Starting Up

So for a quick update since Phil and I haven't been able to call....
We have been at CUMC since about 9:30 PM (its about 5:45 AM now) with contractions and a stubborn cervix. After a few hours of observation they decided to see if an ambien would help me sleep through the contractions and help me relax so that the cervix would progress. It seemed to have the opposite affect, starting off contractions that hurt like nobodies business about every four minutes! We checked the cervix again at about 2:00 am, and it had dilated to about 2, Cayleighs head is in station 0, and the cervix had moved more anterior. B/c of this they decided I should stay and have a morphine sleeper to take the edge off the pain. I'm still a little woozy from the ambien/morphine combo. The disheartening news is that the contractions seem to be getting irregular again. I'll update and let ya'll know more when I know more; it all depends on how much the cervix is changing! Pray for us! It would break our hearts to spend all night here only to go home without our daughter!
